We hope you can join us for... Uncovering One-Taste ConsciousnessA five day CSS retreat led by Fred ChambersFriday April 20 to Wednesday April 25, 2012Cloud Mountain Retreat Center, Castle Rock, WA We seem to exist in the world as a separate self that encounters a multiplicity of objects. But perhaps things are not as they seem. For as Zen Master Dogen says: The many rivers which flow into the ocean become the one taste of the ocean; when they flow into the pure ocean of the dharma there are no such distinctions as delicacies or plain food, there is just one taste, and it is the buddhadharma - the world itself as it is. In this retreat we will use practices of Concentration Meditation and Choiceless Awareness to "get below" the surface of words and phenomena and try to recognize all things as the one-taste of the pure ocean of Consciousness. For those who have not attended previous CSS retreats, this retreat satisfies the prerequisite for attending advanced CSS retreats. Veteran practitioners are also encouraged to take this opportunity to deepen their practice. This retreat is restricted to 25 participants due to limited accommodations. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those attending the entire retreat. To reserve a place, send a completed registration form with a $50 deposit. Please note that this $50 deposit is non-refundable. Total cost for attending the entire retreat, which includes meals and lodging, is $400. Early-bird registration: This total cost is discounted by $25 to $375 if full final payment is received by the early-bird registration date of March 28, 2012. The deadline to register and pay all retreat fees is April 11, 2012. Daily rate: For retreatants who can attend only a portion of the retreat, registration is accepted on a space-available basis only. The daily rate for such part-time retreatants is $80/night, which includes meals and lodging. Refunds of retreat fees, except for the $50 deposit, can be given before the registration deadline; however, no refunds will be given thereafter, except at the sole discretion of the CSS Board upon written request. Please Note: The teachings are a gift to us from the teachers, and CSS makes no profit on retreats. Your retreat fees cover only the cost of the retreat center, and a few incidental expenses. To help support practitioners for whom the retreat fees are a financial burden, please consider a voluntary donation to the CSS Retreat Scholarship Fund if your circumstances permit. For more information, contact Jack Yousey at (541) 461-1967 or send an email to retreats@centerforsacredsciences.org. RegistrationNote: CSS practitioner retreats are by invitation only and are not open to the public. If you are interested in attending a CSS retreat, you can learn about joining CSS and becoming one of our member practitioners. To register for this retreat, 1) complete the online retreat registration form, 2) print out a copy of the acknowledgement email that will be sent to you, and 3) mail the printed copy to us with your payment. Your registration is not complete, and your space at this retreat is not reserved, until you mail your payment together with a printed copy of the email acknowledgement. |
