Supporting the Center

The Center for Sacred Sciences is a non-profit spiritual organization based in Eugene, Oregon, USA, where most of its programs are held. Teachings provided on the Center's website and during Sunday public services are all made available to the public free of charge. There are no financial barriers to participation in Center programs.

The Center relies primarily on volunteer labor to conduct its programs, and on donations and membership dues to meet operating expenses. A summary of Center expenses and income is published annually in the Center's newsletter, which is available online free of charge.

Donations

If you would like to support the Center programs and services, any donation is greatly appreciated. The Center for Sacred Sciences is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and any contribution is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Contributions may be sent to the mailing address above.

The Center also welcomes donations of used books of any kind, or new books you may select from the Center Library's Top Wished For Items at Amazon.com.

Or, simply by following this link to Amazon.com, a portion of the sale of any item you purchase for yourself will help the Center add books to our lending library.

If you are considering taking this course, please first read the Prospective member letter and the Outline of supporting membership. You may then complete and mail in the member Pledge form.

New Members - Distance Studies
If you are unable to attend the Foundation Studies Course, you can join the Center at the time of registering for the distance studies course.

Bequests

A Bequest to the Center is a statement made in your Will directing that a gift be made to the Center upon your death. The gift could be, for example, a specific amount of money, a specific account or portion thereof, or a residual portion of your estate after other distributions have been made. This method of giving to the Center allows you to retain full control and use of your assets during your lifetime, and gives you the satisfaction of knowing that your assets will be used to benefit others after your death by supporting the mission of the Center. Large or small, your bequest can make a difference. Also, your gift to CSS qualifies as a charitable deduction for estate tax purposes.

It is recommended that you consult with an attorney regarding the preparation of your Will. If you are a resident of Oregon, Peter M. Schannauer (541-647-2521), an attorney-at-law with The Ridgewood Group, LLC, who is not affiliated with the Center for Sacred Sciences, can prepare a basic Will for an affordable $120 flat fee; alternatively, he can review a self-prepared Will at an hourly rate of $80.

Preparing your own basic Will is quite simple and affordable using various online Will writing services. The following services, which are not endorsed by the Center for Sacred Sciences, may be suitable for your needs:

The following are examples of bequest clauses that could be customized and included in a Will to make a gift to the Center. These are included here for illustrative purposes only and are not intended to be taken as legal advice.
